The Renewal Programme provides advice and support to the most vulnerable residents of Newham through person-centred and holistic practical assistance, advocacy, and community action projects. Their aim is to transform and empower those within the borough by forming a community cohesion and providing a support base for residents living in one of London’s boroughs affected most by poverty and inequality.

Praxis – they provide expert support to migrants and refugees in the UK. Every year they help some 2,000 people through immigration advice, housing and peer support groups. They take a holistic approach recognising that people are complex, and so are their problems. Their services have evolved over time, adapting to the changing needs and circumstances of its users.
Praxis have become the leading expert in finding pathways out of destitution and supporting migrants facing homelessness, as well as survivors of trafficking and domestic violence, young people, EU citizens and long term residents struggling to find the support they need.
They are commissioned to provide specialist immigration advice by other organisations, and will work with local authorities to improve services for migrant residents through advice, training, and promotion of best practices.

The British Red Cross is the UK’s largest independent provider of services for refugees and people seeking asylum. They offer emergency help, one-to-one support and casework, special services for children and families, and help reuniting families.
If you are a refugee or asylum seeker who needs help, or someone who works with refugees and people seeking asylum, their teams will speak to you and help you figure out what you need. They can offer help from the Red Cross, or refer you to other organisations for support.

RAMFEL – is a charity that supports vulnerable migrants to access justice and that provides vital support in moments of individual crisis.
RAMFEL runs a busy client facing service seeing around 1000 clients a year, for these clients we provide legal advice, casework support, destitution support and crisis intervention. Those seeking asylum in the UK can come to us to seek help with applying for accommodation and financial support, to report issues with asylum accommodation, and any other advice needed during their asylum journey. We also provide support during the post-decision period, whether the decision has been positive or negative.
Victims of Slavery and Human Trafficking Support
We provide specialist support and accommodation to victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, and their dependants. Our dedicated casework teams provide safe accommodation, develop support plans and facilitate access to key services in order to empower clients as they recover from trauma. Our aim is to reduce the risk of re-trafficking and help the survivors to move onto a positive new chapter in their lives.
In September 2015, the Government committed to bringing 20,000 vulnerable Syrian refugees into the UK under the SVPR scheme by 2020. We work alongside local authorities in East Kent to assist refugees resettled in the area. We support the individuals and families as they settle into their new communities, helping them to cope with trauma with the help of specialist services, learn English and access healthcare, education, employment opportunities and other key services.
EU citizens living in the country must apply for settled or pre-settled status to guarantee their rights after the UK leaves the European Union. We are committed to advising and supporting vulnerable people in this process, including those who are part of Gypsy, traveller or Roma communities, homeless, elderly, disabled, adults who have left care or victims of domestic abuse, modern slavery or human trafficking.
Our Hong Kong Welcome Programme assists Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas) who are settling in the UK. Our aim is to provide Hong Kong British National (Overseas) with support and access to education, training, and employment opportunities to help people feel confident and prepared to settle into your new live in the UK.
